Moving In
Closing Day
You’re almost there—congratulations are just around the corner! Before you celebrate, here are a few final details to take care of:

Final Walk-Through
Usually done the day before or the day of closing, this step is more of a safeguard than anything else. You’ll walk through the property to confirm that everything is in the same condition as when you last saw it, that nothing unexpected was left behind, and that all items included in your purchase are still there and in good working order.
Utilities and Services
After closing, you’ll need to set up utilities and home services. We’ll provide you with a list of contacts and phone numbers to make this process easier.
Be Ready for the Unexpected
Occasionally, last-minute issues can come up—something breaks or a small detail gets overlooked. Don’t stress. We’ve handled these situations many times before and know how to resolve them quickly and smoothly.
The Closing Itself
-
At closing, the settlement agent will provide a statement that outlines all financial details of the transaction. You, the seller, and the closing agent will review and sign this document. If you’re using a loan, you’ll also sign your lender’s paperwork.
-
If you can’t attend in person, alternate arrangements may be possible depending on the situation and notice given. For any funds you need to bring, you can either wire them directly to the escrow account or bring a certified bank check for the amount listed on the settlement statement.
-
Finally, the seller should bring all keys, garage openers, and any important information for you so that you can officially take possession of your new home.
